In October, my Mother and I went to the San Jose Tech Museum. Once there, we went to the Star Wars: Where Science Meets Imagination exhibition. We got our tickets for $22. $22! A little expensive for museum tickets, but our tickets were for the actual museum and the exhibition. We saw different ships, models, and a gun and Light Saber display. In the exhibit, there were movies on how technology was used to create ships to move like the Millennium Falcon and the Luke's Land Speeder. There were different experiments in there for kids to play with. One was about a Maglev train and how it works. We were able to build a Maglev train out of Legos. That was pretty cool.  After that, I saw a probe droid model.  One of the coolest things was a robot that senses your movement! How cool was that?  My mom liked the exhibit about Prosthetics there was an interactive activity for that. It was pretty cool.

I recommend this exhibit to anyone who likes Star Wars, or anyone who likes Science because of the experiments.
Its in San Jose, though, so you have to plan. The Exhibit has been extended through March 23, 2014. YOU'RE RUNNING OUT OF TIME!!!!!!

#BrothersCode2013 in Oakland

On December 14th, I went to the Brothers Code event at Laney College in Oakland. The 2 hour free event was sponsored by the Kapor Center, the College Bound Brotherhood,  and the Hidden Genius Project. There were about 50 other Boys there. I saw a couple kids from school.

During the first hour,
we met a lot of people who worked for different companies, including the guy who makes the ads on YouTube (Grrr). The different professions  we learned about included Manager, Funding,
Programmer, and Designer. A lot of people wanted kids to be able to write code.
The second hour was part of the National Hour of Code Week. President Obama sent a message about how he wanted us to learn to code! That was pretty cool. It teaches kids how to write lines of code.  Later, we did coding puzzles with Angry Birds. The whole point of these puzzles was to teach kids that coding is not difficult. Did I mention that it was FREE! I still can't believe the President sent a video.

I hope you are informed thoroughly.  Stay Awesome!

The Event

The Displays

On Sunday, September 1, 2013, I went to LEGO KidsFest. The LEGO KidsFest is a nationally-traveling giant LEGO expo held over 3 days and filled with interactive, creative and educational activities for the whole family. I went as a media reporter.

We went to the LEGO Art Gallery and made 3 Panels that said "Bay Area Gamers." I recommend doing that as your last event. There was also a large screen with the premiere of LEGO Star Wars: The Yoda Chronicles. I will definitely watch it and post any new activity on the website because it looks cool. I will also be looking out for the Game. Other Cool events were the Giant Pile, the Hero Factory and Master Builder Academy.

My Favorite was the Nation Builder Activity. They built a GIANT CITY MADE OF LEGOS!!! I made a "K" Landing pad. I liked building a piece of an actual city. My least favorite part of the day was the pictures my Mom made me take... Overall, I thought the presentations and the displays at Lego KidsFest were cool.

Here's my favorite Display. It's Darth Maul and looked so real, it looked like it was punching me!

The next LEGO KidsFest Events are in Portland Oregon and New England. I highly recommend going because its a lot of fun.
